Sue Gross Design Studio

Printmaker and Illustrator

Welcome to the art of printmaking!

I'm a self-taught printmaker and illustrator. I work mostly in block printing (aka linocut printing), and I'm the illustrator of 2 children's books. I also love to dabble in watercolor and ink and you'll see a little of that here as well.

Check out my recent work and products, and click on my etsy store tab on the menu, or link below, if you'd like to purchase something. For wholesale purchases, I now have a shop on Faire. Click on the Wholesale tab and then the link to my Faire store.

You can double click any item on my website to get a brief description of that item, and, if it's also in my etsy store, the link to that item in my store. However, not everything on my website is available in my store. Thanks for visiting!

-Sue Gross

Be sure to check out my recently added blank journals and die cut stickers!

All the artwork that you see here are originals handmade by me and may not be duplicated without my permission.

Artist Profile

I am a printmaker and illustrator. I originally studied printmaking techniques while in college, where I majored in psychology with a minor in art. I put my artwork on hold while I spent many years in publishing, doing layout and production on monthly and weekly magazines including McCall's Working Mother, Sunset Magazine, TravelAge West and many small trade magazines.

I am the illustrator of two children's books, I'm Going to be a Big Brother, and I'm Going to be a Big Sister, both the recipients of the 2006 iParent Media Awards.

I love the art of printmaking. I use relief, intaglio, monotype, and silkscreen printmaking techniques in my artwork, and take classes to learn new chemical-free printmaking whenever I can. I am constantly trying out new techniques as I'm always looking for new ways to do this wonderful art form!

I have participated in many art shows and exhibits in the San Francisco Bay Area, Lake Tahoe, and Reno, NV. I have recently relocated to the Seattle area, and hope to be making art that reflects the beauty of Puget Sound.
